Eph 1:1-12

 Ephesians 1  1- 12

Hello from Paul, one chosen and sent by Jesus Christ because this was God’s will for my life.  This letter is addressed to all the faithful saints who are in Ephesus and comes with love and a desire that you would know the kindness and goodness of God our father and the peace of The Lord Jesus Christ.

I declare great things about God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ because He has spoken and decreed and declared great things over us from His throne in heaven.  And all He speaks comes into being.  Just as He chose us in Jesus before the world was even conceived, deciding before we were created that we would be adopted by Him and would be made holy and perfect through Jesus.  He chose to do this  because of His great love for us and so that his amazing grace would be displayed to the whole universe – that grace which has made us acceptable and worthy to Him.

Because of the blood of Jesus we have been bought back from the enemy, our sins have been forgiven because of the extravagance of his kindness and mercy which he lavished on us with wisdom and care.  And He decided to explain the mysteries of His will to us – that at the end of the day He will gather up everything in heaven and on earth and bring it all together in Christ.  And that includes us, because we have an inheritance too.  God has decided that we, who trust in Christ, should be displayed as trophies of glory.  This is His will and that’s why He has chosen us.

1:12-23

  Once you had heard the truth, the good news that Jesus had paid the price for your sins, you put your whole trust in Him, and having believed in Him He sealed you up with the Holy Spirit who is a downpayment from heaven, which will be fully redeemed and will buy us our full inheritance once we get there.  Praise God!   Because of all this, when I heard about how much you trust Jesus and love his people I cant stop thanking God for you.  I keep asking that glorious Father God will give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you can truly know Him, see Him, know yourself in the light of knowing Him, understand all the treasure that is yours because you are His and live in the experience of the power which He exercises on our behalf.  It’s the same power which raised Jesus from the dead and lifted him high to seat Him at God’s right hand high, high , high above everything which concerns us on this earth, above the spiritual realm, above absolutely everythi...

3:1-7

  So, Im taking it that you have heard about how God gave me a special measure of grace for you guys  ( Ive told you about it before in a brief message which, when you read it , will help you to understand how I know about the mystery of christ) and how He gave me a special revelation, showing me things which were unknown to previous generations but which have now been revealed by the Holy Spirit to the apostles and prophets He has set apart.  And this is it - what He showed me - that the Gentiles should have exactly the same rights of inheritance, and be part of the same body and partakers of the promise of christ through the great and fantastic news which I have been telling, thanks to the gift of grace God has given to me by the effective working of His power.
